"Rise of the King"
Chapter III (Three): Nearing the Promise Land
Chapter III (Three): Nearing the Promise Land

xxxTHE FALLENxxx
One more, one more and I’ll be able to say that I’m the new National Champion. A title that I’m not too familiar with but it’s a title all the same. I came up in the mini tournament with three superstars and use that term loosely that I did not have any history with save for being in the same fed as Mel. Well anyway I believe that my so-called team lucked out that I was on the team as if it had been different none of them could of said that they made it to whatever round they made it too; as now it’s Ray Fast’s turn at saying that he got to finals which isn’t too shabby in my terms. But as nice as that sounds it will pale in comparison to what I intend on doing as that’s to hoist the National title over my head to show it to the whole world. Now conventional wisdom would dictate that I not be looking too far ahead as it might come back to haunt me but I’ve made it thus far courtesy of myself so what makes this any different as the only thing I would say is that it’s now a one-one affair.
What I can say is thank-you…thank-you to those three Ray Fast, Mel and Nicoli because without them I wouldn’t be able to say that I stand at the threshold of being the first ever National champion. They all should be proud to be able to say that they were responsible for the king, the king of Xtreme to be returned to where he’s the most comfortable; with a championship belt. Mind you it’s not the world title as its being decided between the Commish Alexis and some guy name Jeff Payne that looks and acts like Brian Pillman, a wrestler long since deceased. To be perfectly honest I should be in the finals for the world title instead of the finals for the National title but one step at a time after all one can’t be named Grandslam or triple crown champion with out first being a “lesser” champion. But I don’t see being National champion any lesser than being anything else as plans have steps and this is but one step in my master plan. So I want to good luck to Ray Fast and I send him a special thank-you as he knows why. I also want to send a special good luck to the winner of the world title as soon very soon I’ll be coming for that one as well.

[The scene opens up with Anthony Phoenix, who is wearing a black wifebeater with his name on it and large grey cargo shorts, is standing the middle of his Waldorf Astoria Presidential suite that he had upgraded to. The WAA had been gracious enough to pay for the housing of it’s superstars for this, the first pay-per-view but Anthony was more accustomed to be in finer accommodations so he had decided he would pay a little extra; using his money of course, for a bigger suite at another hotel. Anthony took a sip from his fancy water bottle that he took everywhere he went and looked around. He smiled to himself thinking that he had finally made it after all the hard work and dedication he had endured, he had finally made it. Of course it didn’t hurt to have a rich uncle that had left him some money, a couple of million or 500 million to be exact.
To be honest he no longer had to work for money as now with that large windfall he could now afford to work at what he loved his wrestling career with the minor of distractions. Maybe that was why he was doing so well since his debut in the WAA, in what was being billed as the National title Mini-Tournament; to be quite honest he had yet to lose and was on a two match win streak. It didn’t compare to much of anything but he knew it would lead to bigger and better things if he could keep the streak going a little longer, one thing in particular was the WAA National Title. Anthony didn’t really know what it entailed but he knew it might be a stepping to stone to what he really wanted and that was a chance to be named the WAA Heavyweight champion and add to his already impressive title résumé.]
Wow, seven time world champion. That’s nothing to shake a stick at to say the least, when the bulk of it has happened within the last year. Not to shabby my friend. Now I have a chance to add more gold.
[Anthony smiles briefly to himself as he walks over to the window to stare out into the New York Cityscape.]
I really love this city; it’s like a second or third home to me. I really shine when I come here and this time won’t be any different.
[Anthony nods as he stares intently out the window, when suddenly he turns and addresses the camera. ]
Ray Fast, the man that some have said will become the first ever WAA National champion. I don’t think so; your fate was sealed the moment the WAA championship committee decided to put you on my team. It was all but determined that I was going to end up in the finals it was but a formality as to whom the other person would be. To be quite honest I really didn’t care who I would be facing because the outcome would have ended up the same, my hand raised in victory as the title belt is placed in my other hand. Now I stand on the threshold of the inevitability and all you need to do is show up to get an extremely huge ass kicking this of the Rio Grande.
[Anthony laughs a little as he takes another swig from his water bottle; he takes a look at the bottle as he continues.]
Yeah that’s the ticket, nice cool clear water. The elixir of champions…you may laugh but I challenge any one to say any different. Anyway, Ray; buddy…we’ve had count them two matches that have allowed us to see just what the other is going up against and I can tell you now that your in for the fight of your life. Do you honestly believe that I would tip my whole hand knowing full well that I might end up facing you? Not to take anything away from your skill, but I’ve forgotten more things than you’ll ever know and that’s putting it mildly. To be perfectly honest I’m the best thing there is today bar none, hell I’ve even better than those two that are going for the World Title…they are just lucky that I’m facing you instead of one of them as the same fate that’s going to hit you would of befell one of them. But you’re in luck as this is a fate all yours. Ray buddy or should I say chump…see you at Xtreme Anarchy where you’ll bare witness first hand at the beginning of something xtremely wonderful; as it will be the beginning of the reign of Xtreme One.
[Anthony smiles briefly as he makes an “X” symbol with his two index fingers. The camera fades out slowly]
