As the scene opens, Tom West is on board Jerry West’s personal aircraft. He’s sitting in a leather recliner, watching the scenery go by thousands of feet below. He looks up and addresses the WAA camera, which he requested be brought on board, concerning his WAA National Championship match against Anthony Phoenix and Ray Fast at End of the Era.
TW: “As of this moment, I’m not yet the WAA National Champion, but that’ll change this weekend. At Radicalmania II, I will ruin Anthony Phoenix’s day and take that title that he holds so dear. Mark it down, take a picture, do whatever you have to do to document this moment, but know this. This is the last time anybody in the WAA will see me without the National Championship in tow. I will enter the match at End of the Era as the champion, dominate my competition, and leave exactly the same way.
“As far as my opponents go, I might just have to take a closer look at Atlanta to get a closer look at Anthony Phoenix’s surroun….”
The pilot, overhearing West, comes on over the intercom and interrupts him.
Pilot: “Sir, I couldn’t help but overhear. The RWC lists AP as from Atlanta. This is a WAA match, and the last I checked, on the WAA Web page, it says Anthony Phoenix’s hometown is Scottsdale, Arizona.”
TW: “Scotts….Really? Riiiiiiight. OK. I can play that. Good Mexican food in Scottsdale. I can see why he would want to keep a home there. But wow, it sounds the ring's not the only place where he wears out his welcome. Scottsdale, huh? Makes perfect sense when you think about it. Scottsdale’s got lots in common with Anthony. It’s full of hot air just like our favorite blowhard, and it’s overrun with lots of old, over the hill has-beens. You know, kind of like what Anthony will be when I beat him for the second time in two nights.
“Coming into End of the Era, Anthony, you’re going to be 0-2 when standing opposite of me. Leaving, you’ll be 0-3. The bruises I’ll leave on your body will heal much quicker than the bruises I leave on your ego. I know you’re a vain man and you take a lot of pride in what you do, which makes it that much sweeter for me to see that look of discouragement and disappointment on your face when things don’t go your way. And here lately, things haven’t been going your way much, have they? Fact is, losses to The West Agency, Patrica and Vinny Gaso in successive weeks — even if they weren’t your fault and those losses aren’t fair, as I halfway expect you to whine and cry about — have taken some of the bite out of your bark. In fact, it’s probably a good thing you were the champion heading into Radicalmania and had the rematch clause to exercise; as the four-match losing streak you’ll be riding probably would disqualify you from even being a contender for such a prestigious championship as the WAA National Title.
“Now for the other competitor in the championship match, the No. 1 contender, Ray Fast. As far as I’m concerned, he’s incidental. Collateral damage, even. Raymond, you would be well served to pay attention now. You’re better off spending your precious time and your limited energy focusing on your WAA Tag Team title defense against Alexis and The Great One. You know, the match that you actually have a shot of winning. My head hurt for three days following your unprovoked, unnecessary attack at the end of our match at the final Revolution and I intend on taking full repayment against you on Monday night. I’m sure it can get frustrating when your best moves aren’t good enough, but when you’re facing somebody the caliber of Tom West, well, that’s just the way it goes. That didn’t give you the right to come into the ring, chair in hand and hit me with it. My blood’s too good to be spilled for you or for anybody in the WAA, the RWC or anywhere else I compete.
“Speaking of competition, I have a problem with The Great One’s decree at Revolution. I’ll be champion coming into our match at End of the Era, that much is a given, but I’ve got a little unbelievable hypothetical scenario coming up, so suspend your disbelief and follow me for a second, if you will. In the unlikely chance that Phoenix pins Fast or Fast pins Phoenix, they win. Should the unlikeliest of unspeakables happen, your great National Champion —me, by the way — will have lost without even having his shoulders touch the mat. And The Great One says if that happens, I get no more rematches for six months? That, sir, is the grossest miscarriage of justice I believe I’ve ever heard. It’s a conspiracy, it’s collusion and it’s a sinister, devious plot all rolled into one. It’s a disservice. That’s not good business. But, it’s smart. Sounds like the powers that be are scared to death of The West Agency and are trying to hold us down. Believe me, should that unlikely scenario take place, I will be filing a grievance to correct this wronging.
“Of course, that’s not going to happen, as I’ll retain my championship and head into a new era as the staple of RWC. First, as your National Champion. Then, the World.”
West smirks as he finishes speaking and looks outside. The scene fades to black.

OOC: This occurs after the Weapon X vs. Anthony Phoenix match at RM II ========== xxxTHE END OF AN ERA?xxx So I've made my redebut in the RWC and for what my fiancé Ethan Rayne Martin has been missing for a day and a half presumed dead. I had proposed marriage to him and was going to wed him this very week while we were in Canada and that may all go to hell, if he's gone. I swear just when everything is going great crap like this happens...damn. But I'm the Extreme Wrestling Machine dammit! I should be able to focus but for some reason I can't.
I guess this will be my last time as the WAA National Champion, try as I might I don't feel the drive or the ambition to wrestle much less to blog. But I know my fans would like to be kept abreast as to what the latest on the search is...well here goes. I know as much as you do, they told me they are searching in a wooded area near Ottawa and that's as a far as they told me. I just need your prayers for me, Ethan and Ethan's family in this time of dispare.
I know I should be talking about Tom West and Ray Fast the two people I should be focusing on West tonight and Fast and West tomorrow night after all I've got two title defenses if all goes well tonight that is. If not I'll have an automatic rematch tomorrow night at End of an Era. To tell you the truth I don't know why TGO named it like that...it's silly, the WAA wasn't around long enough to even warrant such distinction, but oh well who am I to argue.
So, I guess I'll force myself to talk about my opponents. Ok, Tom West; who I'm also facing tonight. West believes that he's got my number as I've said time and time again but I guess he still doesn't quite get it. He's flown all around the country trying to get an idea to just who the real Anthony Phoenix is. He's come to Atlanta Georgia and paid off people for all I know to say dumbass predictable things I guess he thought that was going to make me mad. Then he when he was going to lord knows where he struck up a conversation about my other place of residence Scottsdale or Phoenix, Arizona. What he and you all don't know is that I was born in Phoenix hence the name. I was bounced around since my mother died but I won't go into here. Well anyway that's why I hold two residences but as a matter of fact I really hold three...Austin Texas is the other.
Well anyway, why is West so interested in where I live? Is he interested in me for something more than just a feud in the WAA now the RWC or something more. Well the something more is going to have to wait for never. I do welcome the challenge that West is providing I liken it to the battles I had with Daredevil, Big T, Arcan, T-Money or Crazy Joker. He should feel proud that I even mention his name with the likes of those superstars. But then again he really doesn't like it when I name drop so I'll leave him out. But the really funny thing is that West may end up not getting another shot at my National Title for a whole six months. I don't know how I feel about that.
Now I come to Ray Fast...come out, come out wherever you are? It's been a long time since we've seen hide nor hair of Fast. Let me think, ah yes since he won the WAA Tag Titles back last month I believe and now he somehow got a number one contenders shot at me again. I would find that so amusing if it hadn't been real. I don't know what the WAA Championship committee maybe thinking but they gave him another chance at my title. I guess they may be running out of people to face me, thank god we're merging with the RWC at least I get to face more top quality talent than Ray Fast as his welcome has no be over for a long time.
To be honest I see this match tomorrow as a yet another scene in the play I'll call The Perfect 10 vs. The Xtreme Wrestling Machine. Anyone that is added would more than likely end up being an extra as we've gone way past the introductory scenes. So, I guess that's why Fast didn't even bother to respond to our promos. In fact I don't even think he's going to show for our match or for his tag title defense. Oh well, I guess one beating at a Pay-per-View was enough he didn't want to face the risk of making it 2 and 0 in my favor.
So as I write this my match against Tom West at Radicalmania II has yet to transpire so I will be needing all of your prayers there as well. Sorry if this blog seems a bit off as you all know why, but I promise you all this...if I come out with everything intact and I receive good news I can promise you that my old cocky self will soon reemerge. ========== Backstage at RWC’s Radicalmainia II, Anthony Phoenix gets up from his laptop still dressed in his wrestling gear and begins pacing around the men’s locker room looking a bit upset due the recent events of his fiancé Ethan Rayne Martin going missing and presumed dead due to his personal jet The Flyin Devil going down between Seattle and Ottawa. He has a bandage over his right eye courtesy of his match against Weapon X, which was a grueling back and forth, match. His bodyguard, Zasha; is holding the WAA National Title, a title that he must defend later on in the night. Anthony stops ever so often and stares at Zasha and then at the title all the while he continues to pace. Suddenly, Brad Armstrong; RWC Mayhem commentator, Anthony’s trainer/manager and friend walks in during his commentating break and notices that Anthony is just pacing back and forth. Anthony you’re going to wear a hole in the carpet if you do that. Anthony finally snaps out of the “trance” he’s in and acknowledges Brad. I’m not nervous if that’s what you’re alluding to. This is how I mentally prepare and with what’s been going on lately I…I. Anthony almost breaks down again only to be reassured by Brad. Look, we still don’t know the whole story. They might still find him, we don’t know if he’s…Anthony looks up and stares at Brad right before he’s about to say the word dead. Go ahead and say it…DEAD right DEAD? Anthony shakes his head again and starts to pace around the room again, as Brad continues to speak. Anthony you’ve got to get your head in the game…after all these two days may be your biggest defining moment in you whole career. You’ve got two big matches here at RM II and then tomorrow night you have another in Ottawa for the same exact title you now hold the WAA National title. You win all three and you have moved yourself into a whole other category. Anthony stops pacing again. Don’t you think I know that? Don’t you think that very fact has been in the recesses of my mind since I learned that I would be facing West not once but twice? Don’t you think of the big historical significance this very moment in time could hold? I understand it all…I understand it all but it all pales in comparison if Ethan isn’t here to see it. Suddenly, the Anthony’s IPHONE starts to ring; making Anthony stop in his tracks. He stares at the phone as it rings. < It might be more bad news…>Anthony continues to stare at the phone as Brad picks it up to answer it. Hello…yes Mr. Duarte is here? Anthony looks at Brad in a quizzical look; after all, the caller had mentioned his real last name. Anthony grabs the phone and places it to his ear. Hello, this is Mr. Duarte. Anthony listens intently as the person on the other end introduces himself as Capt. James Finley of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Capt. Finley then proceeds to tell Anthony that both his fiancé and his future sister in law had been found alive but unconscious in the cabin. He then tells Anthony the cabin not been destroyed on impact. Finally, the captain tells Anthony that both Ethan and Jessica had been medivaced to an Ottawa hospital where their condition was set at serious but stable condition. Anthony thanks the captain and hangs up. He turns around with a broad smile on his face. They found them…they found them. Ethan and Jessica are at an Ottawa hospital in stable condition. Brad smiles at the news as both he and Zasha share a hug. Anthony that’s great news. Anthony grabs the title from the bench and stares at both Zasha and Brad. No that’s not great news that’s fantastic news, exciting news, news that makes me want to jump for joy. Now I don’t have to worry as much as Ethan and Jessica are fine. Anthony stops short and turns toward Brad. Brad can you book me the first flight out to Ottawa as soon as possible. I would like to get there as quick as I can preferably right after my title defense. Brad nods in acknowledgement as Anthony makes his way to the door. He turns around and smiles. Zasha, let’s go win us a match. Anthony walks out the door with Zasha right behind him. Once out of the looker room he is bombarded with reporters all wanting to get the latest news on the plane crash. The flashbulbs and news cameras all start in. Anthony is all smiles. Ladies and gentlemen of the press, I have wonderful news concerning Ethan Rayne Martin and the plane crash. They both were found alive but unconscious. They both were medivaced to a local Ottawa hospital where both remain in serious but stable condition. Any questions? Someone from the middle of the crowd speaks up. Anthony with this news how does it affect your matches tonight and at WAA’s End of an Era? Anthony smiles broadly. Absolutely nothing. I intended on going forward with the matches even if I hadn’t received this wonderful news. But now I won’t have any doubt or worries and I can focus fully on my opponents. Someone else speaks up. Concerning your opponent what is he in store for? Anthony nods. Oh you must be talking about Tom West. Well I see my first match earlier in the night as a warm up I came close to defeating X but that doesn’t matter as I now move forward to retaining this title and then going on and defending it again tomorrow night at WAA’s End of an Era. But at that event another guest will be making an appearance, Ray Fast; the man that I defeated to become the WAA National Champion in the first place. Hmm, what can I say about him. I hate to admit this but I agree with Tom concerning Fast. He’s now but a bit actor in the main stage performance of The perfect 10 and the Xtreme Wrestling Machine. He may think he has a chance but to be perfectly honest his focus would be better served in retaining his WAA tag team titles instead of dancing with us in this triple threat match. But on a side note I’m currently in talks with someone from my past about forming a tag team so I guess Fast isn’t even safe even if he survives his tag championship match as there are several other teams that want his titles. But let’s get back to my match for this…Anthony holds up the golden National title and smiles in the direction of the cameras as they flash off and on. The WAA National title that has seen more action than the top title in the WAA that is currently being held by Alexis. Wow, now that’s a déjà vu concerning that title…as it mirrors what’s going on the RWC with the second tier title gaining more notoriety than the main top title. And just like when I was the RWC International champion this title here, the WAA National Title has gotten more news and more competition than anything. But of course if when it all comes down to it I was in the middle of both so I guess I am the common denominator and the perfect catalyst. I mean it seems that the most play any title gets is when I hold it and no one else. Another person asks question. Concerning the WAA and the RWC, once the merger occurs there will be a draft for both shows…which show if any would you like to be on? Anthony purses his lips slightly. Look…it’s no secret that I want to be on Pandemonium with my good friend TGO. Follow-up…RWC Co-Owner stated that you pretty much spat on everything that you and TGO have done care to clarify that? Anthony nods Well TGO and I go way back. When I stated that X now finally has a rubber stamp council I wasn’t referring to him at all, as he’s the co-owner. He wouldn’t let X get away with anything but it maybe only him against X and the rest of the council, that’s why I said what I said. But even with all that has been going on in the council, the RWC/WAA merger or my current personal issues…I will still go in to my match here and at WAA End of the Era as champion and leave as such that’s about it. A man asks a question from near the front. Well your opponent Tom West has made light that you have said that you are from Scottsdale Arizona in the WAA and Atlanta Georgia in the RWC. So which is it where are you from are you trying to hide something? Anthony gets upset with the man and nods in Zasha’s direction. Zasha grabs the man by the collar and pulls him closer. The flashbulbs begin to flash again. Let me introduce you to my bodyguard. He does what I tell him to do. I didn’t really like your tone of voice there sir. I just received news that my fiancé is ok and I get this shit. For all I know you were planted here by West but I’m a forgiving man so I’ll answer your question. It’s right that I have done that as I do hold two places of residence on in Scottsdale and one in Atlanta and no sir I don’t have anything to hide. You may let him go Zasha…Zasha releases the man and presses the man’s suit back down. He smiles as he moves back behind Anthony. Ok with that any more questions? Everyone in the media crowd is afraid to ask any other questions. Anthony smiles again Good as I will end with this that is directly aimed at both my opponents at End of an Era. West, Fast you both will once again step into the ring and have a brief brush with greatness as I will enter either as the champion or the challenger. Either way you two will be face to face with the man that has done it all in this business from becoming the first and only NSWA Grandslam champion, a Triple Crown champion in not only the NSWA but the RWC as well. I’ve staked my name and made it famous the world over. Now the WAA hasn’t been to kind to me but that will all end as I will end the brief era experiment that was created by The Great One with the biggest win in WAA history…as I will end your chances at ever becoming the National Champion for a whole six months while I move on to bigger and better things namely becoming the WAA World champion and solidifying my place in wrestling history. You two on the other hand will be left asking… “What Happened?” While I march onto greatness…see you two tomorrow at End of an Era. Anthony walks off ever sure of himself as the scare that had put fear in his heart had subsided he was now ready to prove to world just why he was called the Xtreme Wrestling Machine. END
